Migratory Journeys of fish resulted in charcoal and pencil exploratory drawings and large Paper Textiles. These incredibly difficult and long journeys are awe inspiring and deserve monumental work that is larger in scale and yet contain intimate areas of close stitching. It is quite intentional that direct similarities with our own journeys, both the spiritual and the physical, are apparent.
The Fossil collection expresses the weight, the age, the coldness, the colours and the beauty of delicate plant and fish fossils. Oil mono–printing lends itself to layering, concealing and revealing. It is a compelling technique, where negative and positive image making can be used to enhance layers containing paper cut-outs and embroidered parts. The pieces suggest hidden treasures.
